Despite groundbreaking California legislation to address global warming, greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise in the state and in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a result, grassroots community activists throughout the Bay Area are advocating for local solutions to rising greenhouse gas emissions, with a focus on healthier sustainable communities and green jobs development.
The Bay Area is particularly well positioned for a transition to a local clean energy economy, perhaps more so than any other region in this country. This conference is meant to foster an interchange among grassroots initiatives throughout the Bay Area, with an eye toward more regional coordination of efforts.
Registration fee is $45, which covers breakfast, lunch, and other conference costs. Registration deadline is February 5, or whenever we reach capacity. (Space is limited, so register early to guarantee a spot!)

The Local Clean Energy Alliance is a growing coalition of local nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders working for a clean energy future in the East Bay. The Alliance was founded by Bay Localize, Pacific Environment and the Sierra Club. We believe the Bay Area is particularly well positioned for a transition to a local clean energy economy, perhaps more so than any other region in this country. At this conference, we will discuss the benefits and potential of expanding the Local Clean Energy Alliance to be Bay Area wide.
