Steering Committee Nominations

Nominations Always Accepted for the
Local Clean Energy Alliance Steering Committee

The Local Clean Energy Alliance (LCEA) is always looking to strengthen its Steering Committee in support of its ambitious agenda and program. The Steering Committee sets the overall direction and priorities for the LCEA, based on the policies and campaigns approved by Voting Organizational Members.

The Steering Committee is responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Proposing and implementing campaigns
  • Planning/organizing meetings, conferences, and actions
  • Representing or speaking on behalf of the LCEA
  • Building LCEA membership, partnerships, and resources
  • Fundraising and managing the LCEA budget.

The LCEA Steering Committee consists of volunteer representatives of LCEA's Voting Organizational Members and/or Individual Members who have been approved by the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is representative of the diversity of the LCEA membership.

We are always open to nominations for new Steering Committee members. You can nominate yourself or another person who is passionate about a clean energy future, and about the clean power, healthy communities perspective of the LCEA. Nominations of Women, LGBTQI, and people of color are strongly encouraged.

Steering Committee members are expected to collectively lead the LCEA by:

  • Participating in monthly meetings and email exchanges
  • Taking responsibility for some part of Steering Committee work: for example a committee, campaign, or project
  • Promoting the political and organizational health of the LCEA.

Please email your nomination to Al Weinrub, LCEA Coordinator. Please include the nominee’s contact information and provide information about the nominee’s advocacy work (a brief bio), successes he or she has achieved, and why you feel the nominee would make a good addition to the LCEA Steering Committee.
