April 9th, 6-8p : Eric Thompson on Wind Power and Green Jobs

Join us at the April Local Clean Energy Alliance meeting on Thursday, April 9th from 6-8p. Please RSVP so we can make sure we have enough food for you with aaron@baylocalize.org.

Our speaker this month is Eric Thompson, Co-founder and former VP at Nordic Windpower. Nordic Windpower is spearheading the next major wave in utility-scale wind through cost-cutting technical and business innovations. After 20 years of R&D and 10 years of very successful turbine operation, Nordic Windpower was formed to commercialize the ground-breaking Nordic technology for wind turbines. The company is a merger of Swedish technology and the US and UK teams with decades of success in wind and other renewables.

Eric will speak on wind power and how we can harness more wind to generate local clean energy and create green jobs. Eric will cover wind technologies including those suited for urban areas, wind power prospects in the US, Nordic Windpower's operations, local wind power, and green jobs creation. Eric also will discuss the issues and prospects for locating a wind power facility in the East Bay.
