Support Community Choice at the Berkeley City Council

Tuesday, April 5th – 7p: Berkeley City Council Meeting

Both Community Choice and the Climate Action Plan will be on the agenda for this city council meeting.

Community Choice: The Berkeley Energy Commission is recommending that Berkeley NOT reallocate funds set aside for Community Choice and to hold a Fall workshop on Community Choice. It would be helpful for people to give comments supporting the Berkeley Energy Commission’s recommendation to keep investigating Community Choice and to have a Fall workshop.

Climate Action Plan: The CAP includes Community Choice as one option to increase the renewable content in the grid; the other option is to work with PG&E and state regulators to increase the renewable content in the power PG&E delivers. It would be helpful to if folks could give public comment in support of the CAP effort and of Berkeley prioritizing Community Choice over working with PG&E (which is not likely to work).
