WHERE'S DARBEE?! - Geesman on Prop 16
In this excerpt from the March 23, 2010 California Public Utilities Commission Hearing on Prop 16, former Energy Commissioner John Geesman ( http://greenenergywar.com/ ) gives his critique of PG&E's proposed constitutional amendment and asks, "Where is Peter A. Darbee, Chairman, CEO and President of the PG&E Corporation?" Why isn't he appearing before the CPUC to explain his company's rationale for an anti-democratic measure designed to mislead voters, kill local clean energy projects like those ready to go live in Marin County and San Francisco, and enshrine PG&E's energy monopoly permanently in California's constitution?

Prop 16's 3 Tapeworms
John L. Geesman, Former Executive Director of the California Energy Commission, tells why he opposes PG&E's Prob 16. He identifies what he calls '3 Tapeworms' in the drafting of the initiative up for a vote on the June ballot: Tapeworm #1 is the elimination of customer choice; Tapeworm #2 is the mystery of where all this campaign money is coming from; Tapeworm #3 is a serious drafting error in the "grandfather clause" of Proposition 16 -- every new home buyer, every new business -- would be subject to an election requiring the approval of two-thirds of the voters. This is an excerpt of his testimony at the joint Legislative Hearing held in Sacramento, Feb. 25, 2010.

MEGAN MATSON at CPUC
Speaking for Marin County's broad coalition of citizen groups supporting the Marin Energy Authority's clean energy program, Megan Matson of Mainstreet Moms draws the attention of the California Public Utilities Commission to PG&E's deceptive, highly funded, anti-democratic campaign to block the Marin program and prevent other California communities from following suit.

PG&E'S PROP 16 Joint Legislative Hearing Feb. 25, 2010.
In 4 Parts.

Joint Legislative Hearing Feb. 25, 2010. Pt. 1 of 4 - Office of Legislative Analysis Staff Report
This hearing includes passionate testimony by brave California legislators, city and agency officials and citizens standing up to PG&E, one of the most powerful corporations in the U. S., about Prop. 16 .

Deceptively marketed by PG&E with a $35 million P.R. budget as safeguarding 'tax-payer rights,' Prop 16's real aim is to halt the spread of publicly-owned, non-profit, greener power systems, eliminate competition, and make the giant utilitiy's status as an unregulated private monopoly a permanent part of California's constitution.

It uses ratepayer money to hoodwink voters/taxpayers into giving PG&E unlimited power to raise rates and utimately be the ONLY choice for electricity in its territory.

This is public domain official government video footage presented in four unedited parts as a public service.
