Promotions Volunteer

The Local Clean Energy Alliance (LCEA), the Bay Area's largest clean energy coalition, with 90 affiliated member organizations, including environmental justice, social justice, environmental, business, and community groups, seeks a motivated and organized Promotional Outreach Volunteer.  This is a great opportunity to gain experience on energy policy advocacy while providing needed assistance in promoting our programs. This position is out of the LCEA’s office in downtown Oakland, though much of the work can be performed off site.

This volunteer position is supervised by the LCEA Coordinator. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design and produce promotional materials for LCEA publications, briefings, and conferences
  • Perform outreach to target audiences: energy advocates, organizations, educational institutions, and others
  • Participate in LCEA meetings
  • Represent LCEA on phone and in-person at events

Qualifications:

  • A passion for the clean power, healthy communities perspective of the LCEA
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good web and social networking skills
  • Good design skills, both print, web, and video
  • Responsible, very organized, and detail-oriented
  • Quick learner who is interested in learning about local renewable energy systems, sustainable development, community resilience, and social justice
