The Community Advisory Committee is an important part of EBCE's governance model, fought for by the East Bay community in establishing our Community Choice energy program. Its purpose is to advise the EBCE Board of Directors on all relevant matters of concern to the community, and it was envisioned to represent the broad diversity of our community—in particular low income people and people of color, community-based organizations, and others whose voices are not generally heard in energy decision-making.

The Community Advisory Committee chair has a seat on the Board and the Committee has served as an important community counter-weight to staff recommendations on EBCE policy, investments, electricity rates, and renewable energy development.
